Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC) will eye a winning return as they square off in Match 47 of the Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
SRH, who have secured 4 wins from 11 matches, are currently in the bottom half of the points table while DC, who have 7 wins from 11 games are placed on the second spot in the standings
SRH are coming into this game on the back of their 12-run loss against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in a low-scoring thriller. On the other hand, this will be DC’s first game since their 59-run defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
In these two teams’ last meeting, SRH had beaten DC by 15 runs on the back of some fine performances from David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, Kane Williamson and Rashid Khan. While SRH will be searching for a similar outcome to keep their playoff hopes alive, DC will be seeking to avenge their loss and consolidate their position in the points table.
Here are the players who could tip the balance of the match:
David Warner
David Warner looked in fine touch against KXIP before he got out after scoring a quickfire 35 off 20 deliveries. With his side needing a win, the SRH skipper, who has 370 runs to his name this season, will be looking to put up a big score with the bat.
Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer, who scored 47, was the top run-getter for his side against KKR. However, the DC skipper, who has 382 runs to his name this season, will be looking to score big as his side looks to halt the two-match losing streak when it faces SRH.
Rashid Khan
The last time these two sides squared off, Rashid Khan picked up three wickets. The leg-spinner has picked 14 wickets this season with the economy of 5.29 and hence he will be someone that SRH will bank on against the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant amongst others.
Shikhar Dhawan
After registering four successive fifty-plus scores, which also included two tons, Shikhar Dhawan could not score big in the game against KKR. However, that could just be a blip and the left-hander will be eager to enjoy another good outing with the bat and contribute to a winning cause.
Anrich Nortje
Rested for the game against Kings XI Punjab, Anrich Nortje made his presence count against KKR. The right-arm fast returned with the figures of 2/27 in his four overs. While Kagiso Rabada is leading the bowling charts with most wickets this season, Nortje too has played a stellar role in DC’s campaign and he will once again be someone that his side will turn to in the game against SRH.
Wild Card
Jonny Bairstow
Jonny Bairstow has not scored many in the last few games. But the wicketkeeper-batsman is someone who can single-handedly change the course of the match. If he fires at the top of the innings against a strong DC bowling line-up, SRH will be in with a chance to return to winning ways.
